Garment Factory Cooperation Model and Order Process Overview
1. Factory Cooperation Model
The factory mainly works on a full-package basis, including materials and manufacturing.
2. Cooperation Process
- No sample, image only: Send style images → pay pattern fee → factory sources fabrics → customer selects fabric → pattern making & sample production → customer confirms style → sample approved → pay deposit and place bulk order.
- With sample and images: Send sample → pay pattern fee → factory sources fabrics → customer selects fabric → pattern making & sample production → customer confirms style → sample approved → pay deposit and place bulk order.
3. Pattern Making & Sampling
This mainly depends on the style.
The pattern fee includes fabric and trims sourcing, pattern drafting, cutting sample fabric, and sewing the sample. This is an upfront sampling cost that requires significant time and labor, and is often not profitable for factories. Fees vary by factory.
4. Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ)
- Knitted styles: Minimum one fabric roll, as knitted fabrics are purchased by roll. Very small first orders may result in higher bulk costs. Ideally, garment production aims for zero inventory.
- Woven styles: Can be ordered by piece, since woven fabrics are purchased by the meter and do not significantly affect bulk cost.
5. Lead Time After Order Confirmation
Delivery time depends on the style complexity, the customer’s required shipping date, and the factory’s current production schedule.
